While my field is far removed from Hollywood, I like to think I bring a similar spark to a niche corner of the clinical research world — electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA). In a domain where complexity is the norm, I’ve built a career around transforming that complexity into clarity, structure, and practical execution.

My journey began in 2001 at the University of Pittsburgh, where I was studying Molecular Biology and Biophysical Chemistry. A student research position at UPMC quickly evolved into a full‑time role as a Clinical Research Coordinator — an unexpected opportunity that required ambition, adaptability, and a willingness to dive in headfirst. That decision shaped the next two decades of my career. I gained hands‑on experience across independent Phase I clinics, CROs, Big Pharma, medical device organizations, and eventually, in 2015, the emerging world of eCOA.

eCOA captured my attention immediately. It sat at the intersection of technology, clinical research, patient engagement, and problem‑solving — a perfect match for the skill set I had unknowingly been building. Understanding site activity from the ground level, and Sponsor/CRO operations from the strategic side, gave me a unique ability to translate real‑world challenges into structured, obtainable solutions within the software design lifecycle (SDLC).

Over the past 10+ years, my work has centered on eCOA and electronic Informed Consent (eIC), intuitive UI/UX environments, and regulated SDLC workflows, supported by more than 15 years of experience in data analysis platforms, remote monitoring systems, regulatory submission, protocol advisory, and HIPAA‑compliant design. In 2026, I founded eSML Consulting, LLC — not for Hollywood celebrity, but because I genuinely love the work. My goal is simple: help organizations maximize the value of their clinical technology investments through strategic guidance, operational leadership, and practical, execution‑ready solutions.
